Recycling at The Crocky Trail
Recycling is a form of waste management. It is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. It can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials and reduces; energy usage, air pollution and water pollution.
It is an important factor in conserving natural resources and greatly contributes towards improving the environment. We can recycle plastic, glass, paper, metals, textiles, tires, electronics.
How does recycling work?
The waste materials are collected and transported to a recycling center where they are sorted out, cleaned and processed into ideal materials for manufacturing. The processed waste materials are then manufactured into useful products. Common products manufactured include paper towels, newspapers, steel cans, soft drink containers, etc.
Why should we recycle?
- Minimizes pollution;
- Protects the environment;
- Minimizes Global Warming;
- Conserves natural resources;
- Cuts down the amount of waste in landfill sites;
- Ensures sustainable use of resources;
- Reduces energy consumption.
